What is the Product Stewardship Hub?
Planet Ark's Product Stewardship Hub
Planet Ark's Product Stewardship Hub was created in 2020 as a nexus for Business, Industry, and Government. It's goal is to collaborate, develop, and execute on best practice Product Stewardship schemes for industrial and individual consumers to prevent unnecessary waste to landfill and address inefficient resource usage.
Product stewardship schemes provide Australians with greater access to recycling and safe disposal services for products once they have reached their end of life. Also known as extended producer responsibility, the schemes encourage manufacturers and importers to take greater responsibility for the waste their products create by providing the public with recycling options.
Planet Ark has a long history facilitating the growth and management of numerous product stewardship programs in Australia. Currently, we are involved with the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark, Batteries 4 Planet Ark, and Podcycle programs.
