The clean energy technology provider for Planet Ark Power has been nominated for one of the world’s most prominent environmental awards — the Earthshot Prize.

The Earthshot Prize is designed to incentivise change and help repair and regenerate the environment over the next ten years. Launched in 2020 by the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Prize aims to reverse current pessimism surrounding environmental issues by highlighting examples of human innovation that could bring about change and inspiring collective action.

There are five categories of the award based on simple but ambitious goals for the planet that could improve life for all humans if achieved by 2030. eleXsys has been nominated in the Fix Our Climate category by Japan-based official Nominator Purpose Driven Innovation Ecosystem (PDIE Group).

eleXsys Energy CEO and Co-Founder Dr Bevan Holcombe said the Earthshot Prize nomination ranked among the company’s biggest achievements to date.

“The first year of the prize included many outstanding organisations from around the world offering the type of vital contributions we need to change the course of our planet’s future,” he said.

“To be featured in such prestigious company is a great honour for us and a testament to all the hard work and dedication of the eleXsys Energy team.”

Winners in the prize’s five categories in 2022 will be announced at ceremony in New York later this year and each will receive £1 million and tailored support from around the world to scale their operations.

Planet Ark Power is the master licensee of eleXsys technology in Australia and New Zealand and the group behind the technology’s development. Founded in Australia in 2012 and commercialised in 2020, the eleXsys technology has quickly gained traction and recognition both in Australia and in some international markets in Europe and Asia.
