The Circular Economy Business Innovation Centre (CEBIC) has just launched new intakes for both the Business Support Fund and the Innovation Fund. This round of grants will provide over $4.8 million in funding for projects that will boost Victoria’s circular economy transition, this time, with a bigger focus on applying circular design.

Eligible projects will be those that go beyond recycling and focus on the higher processes of the waste hierarchy such as waste avoidance, reduction and reuse. Applications for both funds will be open until Wednesday 12 April 2023.

As part of Round 3, the two funds available are:

This fund will support projects that will improve the capability and capacity of the Victorian industry to identify, implement, commercialise and scale circular solutions. Grants ranging between $50,000 and $1,000,000 are available for eligible projects on a $1:$2 co-contribution basis, for the individual as well as collaborative partnerships.

This fund aims to support projects that focus on the first principle of the circular economy, which is designing out waste and pollution. Projects by collaborative partnerships that focus on the research and development of innovative market solutions to apply circular design and make products last longer can be eligible for grants ranging between $50,000 and $400,000 on a $1:$2 co-contribution basis.

An information session for businesses interested in applying to either or both the funds will be held on Wednesday 15th March 2023.
