Attention all budding circular economy pioneers in Victoria: funding is open for community projects based on sharing, reuse, repair, repurposing or recycling. This is your chance to help your community preserve resources, learn new skills and reduce waste.

There is up to $3.1 million up for grabs through Sustainability Victoria's Recycling Victoria Communities Fund. The grants are open to any projects that use resources in a smarter way, from repair cafes and tool libraries to compost hubs and worm farms.

There are two grant streams available for circular economy projects — one for local community projects and one for regional projects delivered over a large geographical area. The grants are open to charities, community groups, social enterprises and non-for-profits.

Projects funded in the first grant round include a bicycle repair hub, an e-waste education program for St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria and the expansion of Reground’s coffee ground collection service to 19 local government areas and 100 businesses in Victoria.
