  • Be a part of the Planet Ark team and help support the transition to a circular economy in Australia!

  • Work for one of Australia's best known environmental not-for-profits, which has over 30 years of experience.

  • Enjoy a 9-day fortnight working with a passionate and enthusiastic team to drive positive change in business, government and the community.

Positive actions are at the core of every decision we make. We are defined by what we are for, not by what we are against. Our goal is to build a better world – one where humans not only live in balance with nature, but help it to thrive.

About Planet Ark

Planet Ark is one of Australia’s best known environmental not-for-profits, with an enthusiastic and committed team. We work with business, government, community groups and individuals to create positive environmental actions for everyone.

About the role

We’re looking for a progressive thinker to join our team, someone who’s always striving to improve and try new things to stay ahead of the pack. You’ll be working with the Planet Ark team towards building a world where humans not only live in balance with nature but help it to thrive.

As the Communications Coordinator, working under the Head of Communications, you will assist in planning, creating and delivering content for Planet Ark’s channels, including but not limited to newsletters, social media and website pieces.

You will also play a significant role in maximising media coverage of Planet Ark’s campaigns, including contributing towards developing media plans, distributing media releases and conducting media outreach, coordinating and executing CSA creation and distribution and evaluating campaign success. Instrumental to the role is the ability to assist in evaluation of Planet Ark’s media-based activities, including monitoring media clips, providing analysis and editing media elements of evaluation reports.

You can find out more about our campaigns here!

This is a full-time 12-month contract position. The salary for this role is $60-65k per annum depending on experience + super and benefits.

After a recent trial we now offer all full-time employees a 9-day working fortnight (67.5 hours). These hours are worked with alternate Fridays as a non-working day: staff are still paid at the rate for their full contracted hours. This is a staff health and wellbeing initiative, and we are striving to implement a 4-day working week in the future.

How we support our staff

  • We offer flexible working arrangements, remote working and a 9-day fortnight.

  • Access to a range of meaningful benefits to support their mental wellbeing

  • A high level of support to grow their careers through learning and development.

  • An organisational culture that rewards and recognises innovation and values, not long hours.

Planet Ark is committed to building and fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace. We believe in incorporating everyone's perspectives and experiences as this has been a significant driver of our success so far. For this reason, we strongly encourage candidates of all backgrounds, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age to get in touch.
