In 2019, Coca-Cola Australia came on board as a Major Sponsor of National Recycling Week to help Australians understand what to recycle, how to recycle and where to recycle.
As the largest beverage company in Australia, Coca-Cola Australia is committed to helping end the country's plastic problem. In 2019, Coca-Cola Australia announced that all Coca-Cola owned soft drink, water, juice, dairy and sport brands (in bottle sizes under 1L) in Australia would be produced in 100% recycled plastic bottles by 2020.
This is a major milestone for plastic packaging in Australia and reduces the amount of new plastic used by its bottler Coca-Cola Amatil by an estimated 10,000 tonnes per year in Australia.
