Paul was appointed CEO in June 2010 and was one of the founding directors of Planet Ark in 1992. He has worked in the environmental field for the past 23 years as an environmental researcher, retailer, writer and ethical investment fund manager. Prior to working in the environmental field he spent 11 years in the financial services industry in research and advising roles.
Ian is one of the longest-serving team members at Planet Ark, having joined the organisation in 2006. In charge of Planet Ark's IT infrastructure, he keeps our websites running smoothly. With a background in Management and over 25 years in IT, software development and engineering, Ian likes to use technology to make our lives easier. When not working with computers, Ian enjoys playing music, cooking (and eating) great food, spending time with his family and helping run the historic Linden Observatory in the Blue Mountains.
Scott joined Planet Ark in 2014 after ten years working in the government and private sectors. He keeps things moving along for the team by managing the organisational finances and governance as company secretary.
After 30 years as an actor, Rebecca joined Planet Ark as our public spokesperson and Audio/Visual Projects Manager in 2002. She shares her passion for the environment, society and organisational change for sustainability with the team at Planet Ark. Being great with people makes Rebecca ideal for her roles as HR Manager and Executive Assistant to our CEO Paul Klymenko.
Brad trained and worked as a history and geography teacher before moving into the health education sector for 14 years. With a strong passion for human environments, Brad started with Planet Ark in 2007 as Recycling Programs Manager before taking up the role of Head of Campaigns in 2010. Brad works with every team in the organisation to create positive and action-based programs designed to engage Australians with the environment.
Kristie joined us in July 2016 to help manage our relationships with corporate, government and philanthropic partners, sponsors and supporters. After a seven year career in media partnerships, Kristie was attracted to Planet Ark for the opportunity to put her passion for nature and the environment to good use.
Debbie Agnew has 20 years of experience running community engagement campaigns, having worked for the United Nations Environment Programme, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and Clean Up Australia Day. Deb gets excited about social innovation and her greatest strength is inspiring the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of individuals who take part in in National Tree Day activities every year.
Claire has been working at Planet Ark since 2011, after working in the communications industry and raising a young family. She is passionate about her children and helping the environment. Claire is super-organised and excellent multitasker, which helps in her joint roles as Office Manager and Campaign Support Officer.
Laura joined the Planet Ark team in 2016.
After nearly a decade working in the banking and finance industry Ryan was drawn to a career in environmental conservation that saw him work in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Fiji. With a background in psychology and environmental management, Ryan’s role at Planet Ark since 2012 has been focused on developing engaging and positive environmental behaviour change programs to help everyone recycle and reduce waste.
Ellice has worn many hats, from pastry chef to Souvenir Manager at the Uluru Culture Centre to selling crystals in the Blue Mountains. She now puts her gift for customer service to excellent use as an essential part of Planet Ark's Information Centre, as well as assisting the finance team.
Reese Joined us in February 2016 to manage our recycled paper and product labelling programs. Working at planet brings together his 15 years’ experience in marketing, product management and stewardship with his passion for working with people to create positive environmental outcomes.
Diane worked for almost 20 years in the finance sector, managing corporate relationships, project management, stakeholder engagement and reporting. She joined Planet Ark in 2009 while studying environmental management at UNSW, initially to manage the carbon footprinting and product endorsement programs. She now takes care of contract arrangements with all our partners, sponsors and supporters.
With a passion for socio-environmental education and creative visual expression, Bronwen draws on over 25 years working professionally in creative, cultural and environmental projects around the world. Her experience working with Australian communities and schools has made her a valuable asset to the Planet Ark team since 2003.
Karen is a Chartered Management Accountant with over seventeen years of experience, spending the last six years with not-for-profit organisations. Her passion for life, nature and saving the planet led her to work for Planet Ark.
Sara has held a variety of media and communications roles in both the non-profit and private sectors, including positions in the UK, Ireland and Canada. A keen recycler and nature-lover since childhood, Sara was excited to join the Planet Ark team in June 2011. Her work with Australia’s media plays an essential role in spreading the word about the positive environmental actions everyone can take.
Marty's team help you get involved in Planet Ark's campaigns. From finding answers to your most tricky recycling questions to where to plant a tree - the Information Centre are at the front line. Marty draws on diverse experience and qualifications including psychology, support for homeless youth and training young Australians to work in Conservation and Land Management, he has spent his entire career helping people get the most out of their community. He started with Planet Ark in 2012 managing the Information Centre, making it easy for Australians all over the country to do their bit for the environment.
Sean is our resident science enthusiast. After completing a PhD in behavioural ecology with a scientific background across life and earth sciences, Sean spent 15 years in the food manufacturing sector, managing research and innovation projects. Sean's experience also includes two years of managing product development for one of Australia’s largest nappy manufacturers, including the development of a high-biodegradability nappy.Sean joined Planet Ark in 2007 and continues to oversee our Research and Development activities.
David hails from Lancashire, England and has lived in Australia since 1994. He studied Architecture at Sheffield University and also has an MBA from Macquarie University and a Master of Marketing from UNSW. Prior to joining Planet Ark in 2016 David was Marketing Manager then CEO of a major Sydney-based manufacturer of modular carpets used in all commercial building applications. His proudest achievement was the development of an industry-leading environmental sustainability agenda, including the unique Earthplus product reuse program.
