#ThrowBackTreeDay for National Tree Day

This year for National Tree Day we're asking everyone to get involved with #ThrowBackTreeDay.

Australia’s biggest tree planting and nature care event is rapidly approaching, and this year we’re asking everyone to dig out their old albums for #ThrowBackTreeDay.

In the lead up to National Tree Day (Sunday, 1 August) we have a request for all our Tree Day friends. Share two images of yourself – one current and one from your childhood – with a message about your love for nature. Tag @NationalTreeDay on Facebook and Instagram and use the hashtag #ThrowBackTreeDay and #NationalTreeDay.

Do you remember your first Tree Day, or the first seedling you planted? Maybe it was the first time you fell in love with Australian birds or the first camping trip you went on with family and friends. Last year we did #HugaTreeforNTD and we are definitely not against bringing that back either. Bring on the nostalgia!

Don’t forget to register for a Tree Day planting event near you. Or you can celebrate National Tree Day by planting a tree at home or spending time in nature.

For our fellow Sydneysiders, we’re not sure what the next few weeks hold but even if we can’t take part in a group planting we can still celebrate trees at home and connect with nature when it’s safe to do so. We have plenty of resources and activities to keep kids (and big kids) busy. We’ll keep sharing nature inspired craft over the next few weeks. Follow @NationalTreeDay on Instagram to stay up to date.
