Allen Jack+Cottier (AJ+C) has overcome an international field of contenders to win the Sport in Architecture Award at the 2018 World Architecture News (WAN) Awards in London. AJ+C's winning project, the Judith Poole Sports Hall and playing fields at Abbotsleigh School in Sydney's leafy Wahroonga beat five other finalists vying for the prestigious award. The project also won the award for Excellence in the Use of Timber Products - Timber Flooring - in the 2016 Australian Timber Design Awards.

The Melbourne Recital Centre is an acclaimed music destination combining architectural innovation and acoustic perfection within its two performance spaces to showcase the best music, artists and ensembles from around the world. The Brisbane Showgrounds is set to house the world's largest and tallest engineered timber building at 25 King Street. The first delivery of cross laminated timber (CLT) columns, beams and floor panels arrived at the grounds in February 2018 for construction. As the world's largest and tallest engineered timber office building, 25 King will be one of the most exciting additions ever made to Brisbane's skyline. A key element of 25 King's structure is the use of prefabricated modules for each floor.
