A waste assessment by the NSW EPA's Bin Trim program gave the Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre a picture of what waste the tenants were generating and what opportunities there were to reduce waste. Since early 2015 James Treble, the talented interior designer on Channel Ten's The Living Room, has exuberantly acted as an ambassador for Planet Ark. He's emceed events for our Make it Wood campaign and voiced radio ads for our BusinessRecycling and 12 DOs of Christmas campaigns. This week he launched The James Treble Collection of rugs, ottomans and cushions that focus on style that is sustainable and ethical.

Maleny Wood Expo 20th Anniversary

Maleny Wood Expo is designed to promote sustainable use of our beautiful native timbers through the work of local and regional wood artisans. The Expo is now recognised as one of the best wood shows in Australia. Join them for three days of clean country family fun at the beautiful Maleny Showgrounds. The expo is hosted by Barung Landcare, a not-for-profit community group. Any surplus from the event goes towards keeping the Barung Landcare office open for the wider community, on-ground environmental projects, and landholder environment education - all of which results in restoring and enhancing the natural environment of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
