Picture this: five million printer cartridges could fill approximately ten Olympic Pools or cover Bondi Beach two and a half times! That makes the achievements of two  ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' long-term collection partners so impressive.

Planet Ark's long-term collection partners of the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program, Officeworks and Australia Post, have both achieved the milestone of recycling five million printer cartridges and are the first retailers to reach this milestone.

But what's so special about printer cartridges? Well, cartridges consist of all kinds of material including plastics, metal, inks and toners and represent a significant investment in resources. To date, the CO2 saved from recycling through the ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' program is equivalent to taking more than 27,450 cars permanently off the road! Recycling cartridges also allows for new products to be created that can be designed sustainably such as Tonerpave and pens.

The ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' campaign is a recycling program that provides you with a free, easy and environmentally accredited way to recycle your used printer cartridges. It's hard to believe that five million cartridges could fill ten Olympic Pools or cover Bondi Beach two and half times, isn't it?

To help Planet Ark reach its target of 28 million cartridges recycled by March 2015, find out where the nearest collection point is located and head to or check out Planet Ark's retail collection partners here.
