Unless You're Buying Recycled You're Not Really Recycling
Author: Brad Gray
Hands up anyone who remembers when recycled copy paper first arrived in the 1980s. What do you remember? Maybe, inconsistent quality and colour? Well, it's time to forget that. Technology has moved on and recycled office paper is almost indistinguishable from virgin paper - except that it's better for the environment!
Australians are champion recyclers at home and recycling is taking off in the workplace - especially paper recycling. However, when it comes to buying recycled office paper we are lagging behind. Less than 1 in every 6 reams of paper used in Australia contains any recycled content.
As the saying goes, unless you are buying recycled you're not really recycling. Aussies seem reluctant to buy recycled office paper, which is likely a hang over from the early days when the quality was poorer.
With the establishment of state of the art de-inking processes, it is now virtually impossible to tell the difference between Reflex White 100% Recycled and virgin paper.
Whether you're an occasional user at home, whether you provide it to your kids for their homework or whether you use lots of it at work, by choosing Aussie made, recycled paper you are helping to keep waste paper out of landfill or being sent overseas for processing.
Decide For Yourself
As we said, we want to give 10 lucky readers the chance to compare the quality for themselves. All you have to do is be one of the first 10 people to contact us (including your name and postal address*) and we'll send you samples of Reflex White 100% Recycled to trial.
Planet Ark has teamed up with Australian Paper in the Make It Recycled partnership to encourage individuals and workplaces to make the switch to recycled paper.
