The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) will be holding an information session and a webinar on 23 January 2018 as part of the latest Waste Less Recycle More funding for business recycling and waste and recycling infrastructure programs. The session is for potential applicants including local government, business, industry and not-for-profit organisations.

The session will include information on three Waste Less Recycle More grants that will open soon:

  • Bin Trim – Round 3
The Bin Trim Program offers grants of between $50,000 and $400,000 to fund waste assessors to work with NSW businesses with up to 400 full-time employees. These waste experts undertake assessments, produce tailored action plans, and provide businesses with advice and support to increase their recycling and reduce their waste to landfill. A total of $5 million in funding is available in Round 3.

  • Circulate (Industrial Ecology) – Round 3
The Circulate Program offers grants of between $20,000 and $150,000 to fund innovative, commercially-oriented industrial ecology projects that focus on the commercial and industrial (C&I) and construction and demolition (C&D) sectors in NSW. Circulate supports projects that will recover materials that would otherwise be sent to landfill, to be used as feedstock for other commercial, industrial or construction processes. A total of $2.5 million in funding is available in Round 3.

  • Civil Construction Market Program - Round 1
The Civil Construction Market Program offers grants of up to $150,000 to eligible organisations to promote the use of waste from one civil construction project as a useful input into another. This program aims to reduce the amount of C&D waste being sent to landfill, reduce the amount of C&D material being stockpiled and to promote innovative resource recovery activities in the NSW Civil Construction sector. A total of $2.5 million in funding is available in Round 1.

The funding is part of the NSW Government’s Waste Less Recycle More initiative which provides $802 million over 8 years to stimulate new investment and transform waste and recycling in NSW.
