DIY Fun This Festive Season
Get the kids involved in making some crafty treats for the tree, table or gifts these Christmas holidays. There are lots of ways to re-use items that we have on hand, making crafts and decorations economically. By re-using items, we also reduce emissions, energy consumption and the resources that go into manufacturing something new.
Download a range of craft and decoration activities from FestiveRecycling.PlanetArk.org/kids-pages/crafts.cfm. To get you started, we've described the Home-Made Christmas Bon Bons below.

Home-Made Christmas Bon Bons
Get the kids to collect clean cardboard toilet rolls in the weeks leading up to Christmas - these are the basis of your bon bons.
- For the outside wrap, re-use comics from the newspaper, old posters or colourful pamphlets, or kids' artwork.
- Simply fill the toilet rolls with sweets, chocolates or trinkets, wrap them and secure with tape, then tie the ends with ribbons or raffia.
- Voila - home-made bon bons!
For a special suprise, put a small treat or gift voucher inside one of the bon bons, and your guests can take a lucky dip in selecting their bon bons.
*All Pilot BegreeN percentages are calculated excluding replaceable parts such as refills, cartridges, ink and leads.
