Nature One

An environmentally responsible alternative to plastic packaging

Share

Planet Ark proudly endorses Nature One, previously known as Rollo Wrap, an environmentally responsible and renewable paper-based packaging solution for businesses.

Did you know food packaging often has a plastic coating containing PFAS? Per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances or PFAS are ‘forever chemicals’ that may have negative health and environmental impacts.

Nature One is a food packaging product that is free of chemicals of concern including PFAS. It’s also recyclable (with minimal food and grease contamination) and compostable, making it a superior alternative to single-use plastic packaging and plastic-lined greaseproof paper products.

Nature One can be used by businesses – and even schools in canteens – in a number of ways including wrapping paper, slap sheets, pull through sheets, bags, pizza box liners, deli wrapping and bakery items. It can also be used for non-food packagings such as bags and protective wrapping. Its sister product, Nature Plus, features a greaseproof coating on both sides of the paper, broadening its catering applications.

Planet Ark is selective when choosing products to endorse. Before we endorse any product, we do the hard yards to determine its environmental impact. This process involves rigorous research, analyses, supply chain review and more.

The Nature Range provides a unique, high-quality solution for packaging applications and can include the following benefits: :

  • oil and grease resistance

  • wet strength

  • high strength properties

  • printability with food safe inks

  • heat resistance (up to 220°C)

  • pH-neutral

  • tasteless and odourless

  • FSC certified

Where can I buy Nature One products?

Nature One products are available for purchase through Sustain Paper – a wholly owned subsidiary of Alliance Paper, a partner of Planet Ark.

Alliance Paper partnership

Planet Ark has partnered with Alliance Paper and endorsed Nature One and Nature Plus to encourage Australian businesses and schools to transition away from paper products that contain chemicals that are potentially harmful to the environment and our health. The partnership is based on The Precautionary Principle, which states that:

When an activity raises threats of harm to human health or the environment, precautionary measures should be taken even if some cause and effect relationships are not fully established scientifically.

Alliance Paper is open to partner with packaging companies that are looking to manufacture a safer alternative to single-use plastic packaging for their customers.
