Helping your family and friends embrace sustainability doesn't have to be an uphill battle or a guilt trip. With the family, make sustainability an adventure - go on treasure hunts for toys at garage sales and teach your children how to fix bikes or revive old clothes with natural dyes, patches or alterations.
Amongst friends and collegues, plan events where everyone brings something made from local produce, attend or host a Big Aussie Swap Party (see RecyclingWeek.PlanetArk.org/involvement/bas.cfm) or hold a joint garage sale.
