Do you need to declutter the office of old electronics? Telstra have teamed up with e-waste recycler, ECOACTIV, to offer an easy solution. The eCycle recycling program using specially created boxes are available to local businesses for collection of their old technology, clearing up space for more productive uses

The eCycle program is a great solution for disposing of smaller amounts of e-waste. Businesses can order a box online or call 1800 111 399 or a box can be picked up from a participating Telstra Business Centre (see website for full list). Once the box is full a pick up can be requested online, by phone.

Items accepted in the scheme include:

  • Mobile handsets and accessories
  • Networking equipment
  • Cable and wires
  • Desktop and mobile computing devices
  • Computer monitors
  • Computer peripherals (e.g. keyboards, mice, speakers, web cameras, external power suppliers and computer parts)
  • Server computers
  • Hard drives
  • Floppy drives
  • Joysticks and gamepads
  • Compact disk drives
  • Digital video disk drives
  • Multi-function devices (small)
  • Printers and scanners
  • Electronic power supplies and accessories
  • Phones and related accessories
  • Answering and fax machines
  • Testing and monitoring equipment

Over 90% of materials can be recycled including plastic, glass and electronic components, recovering precious materials and diverting the waste from landfill. As part of the scheme all data is securely destroyed. The scheme is running until the end of February 2016, so get in quick and take advantage of the great recycling initiative.
