NSW Resource Recovery Grants Now Open

Applications are invited for Round 3 of the Resource Recovery Facility Expansion and Enhancement grants program and Round 2 of the Innovation in Priority Problem Wastes Management grants program. Delivered through a partnership between the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and the NSW Environmental Trust, these programs aim to increase recycling of household, business and problem waste.

· Resource Recovery Facility Expansion and Enhancement Round 3
· Innovation in Priority Problem Wastes Management Round 2

Applications are invited for Round 3 of the Resource Recovery Facility Expansion and Enhancement grants program and Round 2 of the Innovation in Priority Problem Wastes Management grants program. Delivered through a partnership between the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and the NSW Environmental Trust, these programs aim to increase recycling of household, business and problem waste.

 

Resource Recovery Facility Expansion and Enhancement grants program:


· Grants of $100,000 to $1 million to cover up to 50 per cent of project capital costs are available to eligible organisations.
· Eligible organisations include councils, industry and businesses who operate licensed waste management facilities in NSW. Construction & Demolition waste (excluding asbestos & contaminated waste), shredder floc and priority problem waste are also now included as eligible wastes under Round 3.

Innovation in Priority Problem Wastes Management grants program:

· there will be 2 streams:

  •  Stream 1Infrastructure: grants of $100,000 to $1 million to cover up to 50 per cent of project capital costs are available to eligible organisations. The application will have to demonstrate that the infrastructure is first of its kind for waste and recycling in NSW.
  •  Stream 2Research and Development: grants of $20,000 to $200,000 to cover up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs are available to eligible organisations. The application will have to demonstrate that the research, development or trial collection system is original.

Business Case Support

The EPA provides free support to applicants to help prepare their business case under Business Case Advisory Service. Requests for support under the Business Case Advisory Service are available until 5:00 pm Friday 17 June 2016.
