A waste assessment by the NSW EPA's Bin Trim program gave the Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre a picture of what waste the tenants were generating and what opportunities there were to reduce waste. With centre management, retailers, the council and NSW EPA working together, a massive 25 tonnes of food waste per month is being diverted from landfill.
