Vestas Says Wins Italian And German Turbine Orders
Denmark's Vestas, the world's biggest maker of wind turbines, won a 51 megawatt turbine order in Germany, and a 66 megawatt order in Italy over the New Year's holiday, the company said.
Vestas Wind Systems A/S said in a statement the German order was for 17 of its V112-3.0 MW turbines for a windpark in Lower Saxony. The turbines are scheduled to be installed in 2011.
The order from Italy was for 22 of its V90-3.0 MW wind turbines for the Bisaccia Wind Farm, with delivery of the turbines beginning at the end of 2011, Vestas said.
